The added challenge makes me play just a bit more cautiously, as opposed to dashing without a care in the world. The enemies hit a bit hard (and I just found out I can switch to Zero?), but I don't think it will be a problem beating every stage as X. I actually think the enemy design here is the best of all 3. I'm 2 bosses down/4 stages tried into X3. Come on Capcom, let's get it crackin now.do it for the kids. The collection is sorely missing Command Mission, (I know I keep harping on about this, and I will continue to do so, as it continues to be true), but overall I'd say the two Legacy collections have quickly become some of my most, if not the most, treasured games of my collections.Īlso, my daughter has watched Day of Sigma four times now, and she keeps asking to watch it again if that isn't proof that we need more quality MMX animations, and perhaps even a continuation of the Maverick Hunter X series, then I don't know what is. Also, it's notable that they actually made Axl fun to play by essentially making him an updated version of Bass, and damn if his weapons aren't fun as hell to use. I immensely enjoyed the armors in 8, and though I thought it turned out to be weirdly grindy, (you don't think of grinding in a Megaman X game unless you're trying to fill a sub tank, but it's part of 8), and the vehicle levels are far from great, (and far from as bad as most folks in this thread are making them out to be), and I think the amount of spikes used in the last stage verged on cheap design, all and all I think it had some of the funnest mechanics, best sound design, best armor, and best sub weapons of the entire series.

I think my final revised ranking of the series goes something like this: In my mind, it's probably the fourth best entry in the series, and that's notable considering I view all of the entries to be absolutely excellent or at the very least high quality titles except 7. So I've beaten every game in the franchise now, and I can't disagree more with those that hate 8. The final boss is broken and goes down in 30 seconds. Red donuts! Putting Nightmare Viruses right next to important reploids! Ground Scaravich's stage is completely random and you have to do it over and over again until you are lucky enough to get to the right area to obtain parts, the heart tank and armor upgrade. Then there is Gate Stage 2 that sends you straight to the next stage after you kill High Max and good luck getting through that one with the Shadow Armor. If you end up fighting High Max without magma blade the whole fight becomes a massive chore and it's better to just kill yourself until game over and leave the stage which also takes a long time because you get spammed with continues. There are like 4 bosses you can easily defeat just by standing in front of them and mashing shoot/slash. The level design is terrible, as is the damage balancing.

There is no possible way someone can objectively think that X6 is the best game of the X series.
